Overview
Travelpro designed the Tourlite as a light softside carry-on that rolls on four spinner wheels and lifts easily into an overhead bin. A tapered expansion zipper adds packing room, and DuraGuard fabric repels water and stains.
Low weight plus a strong warranty is the case for it, leaving more of the airline weight limit for clothes and covering early airline damage. Soft fabric flexes into tight bins but will not shield fragile items like a hard case.
Who it's for
Business travelers and weekend flyers who lift bags into bins often get a light case with three grip handles. People carrying bottles, cameras or gifts that bruise easily should consider hardside luggage.
Pros and cons
- Light for a full size carry-on
- Two handle heights
- Three easy-grip handles
- Expansion adds packing room
- Soft shell gives less crush protection
- Expanded size may miss bin limits
- No TSA lock listed
- Only two exterior pockets
Performance notes
The DuraGuard exterior repels water and stains rather than sealing out rain, so contents stay dry in a quick shower but not a downpour. Spinner wheels roll the case upright, and the Contour Grip handle spreads hand pressure on long walks.
