Overview
The Brita 635407 is a 5-cup countertop pitcher built around a single activated carbon filter, sized for compact fridge shelves or small households needing a quick top-up rather than a full 10-cup reservoir.
It sits at the entry-level end of Brita's pitcher lineup, a plastic single-filter design rather than a multi-stage system. That keeps it light and cheap to maintain, but it also means the whole job of taste and odor reduction rests on one carbon cartridge.
- Activated carbon filtration
- 5-cup capacity
- Countertop pitcher design
- Compact plastic body, 6.69 x 9.29 x 9.45 in
Who it's for
Fits one or two people who want tap water with less chlorine taste and don't want to install anything. Households that go through several liters a day will find the 5-cup reservoir too small to keep up.
Pros and cons
- Compact size fits narrow fridge shelves
- Simple one-filter design with no assembly
- Lightweight plastic construction
- 5-cup capacity means frequent refills for more than one or two people
- Single-stage carbon won't remove dissolved solids the way RO does
Performance notes
The activated carbon filter is designed to cut chlorine taste and odor rather than strip out dissolved solids the way a reverse osmosis system would. Being a single-stage design, filtering speed and capacity are modest, in keeping with the pitcher's small 5-cup size.
