Overview
Gliding the volcanic lava ceramic plates down a section of hair smooths it with even heat at a lower temperature. A long swivel cord lets the CHI iron move freely at a vanity or salon chair.
Lava mineral conductivity aims to straighten at lower heat, reducing thermal stress on hair. Without listed temperatures or settings, thick or coarse hair owners cannot tell how hot it runs.
Who it's for
Daily straightening on hair that frizzes or shows heat damage is the focus. Stylists who must dial in an exact temperature for fine or coarse hair should look for a model with listed settings.
Pros and cons
- Lava ceramic plates glide smoothly
- Long swivel cord
- Designed for lower heat styling
- Simple slide power switch
- Temperature range not listed
- Plate width only stated in the title
- No auto shut-off mentioned
Performance notes
Even heat transfer through the lava ceramic surface is what limits hot spots and snagging. Results depend on slow, single passes on clean, dry sections, since the iron is built to work at lower heat.
