Overview
A mahogany bowl and a spruce face form the body of this Arabic oud, fitted with an ebony fingerboard and nylon strings. A jack allows amplified playing, and a soft cover protects it in transit.
An electric jack on a full size oud lets a player work on stage without a separate microphone. Everything needed to start is named, from extra strings to a plectrum. Shipping times in the description are long.
Who it's for
Written for a player of Arabic music who wants plug-in capability and a traditional build. Buyers in a hurry should note the slow surface shipping described.
Pros and cons
- Spruce and mahogany build
- Soft cover, not a hard case
- Weight not listed
- Slow shipping options
Performance notes
A spruce face is light and responsive, while the mahogany bowl projects the tone, and nylon strings give the soft attack of an oud. The jack sends the signal to an amp for stage use.
