Sonos in-Ceiling by Sonance

Overview

Cut into a ceiling, the INCLGWW1 is an architectural speaker made by Sonance for Sonos and aimed at ambient listening. A woofer and a small driver face down into the room from a round white housing. The listing mentions multi room audio.

Invisible placement and multi room audio are the reason to consider it for a kitchen, hallway or bathroom where floor space is scarce. The limit is the unclear spec sheet: the listing mentions batteries, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi together, none of which fit a typical flush ceiling speaker.

Who it's for

Homeowners adding background audio to rooms with an accessible ceiling will find the flush design useful. Those who want a movable speaker or a plug-in setup should look at a standalone product.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

A ceiling speaker fires downward, so coverage depends on room height and mounting position. The woofer size sets how low it plays before the listed frequency response drops. Ambient listening favors even coverage over strong directional output.
