Overview
The Slow 'N Sear 22ESG-SS is a stainless steel EasySpin cooking grate sized for 22 inch charcoal kettle grills, measuring 21.5 by 21.5 by 2 inches. It is built to rotate on the kettle rim so cooks can reach the coals without lifting the whole grate.
A rotating grate solves a common problem on kettle charcoal grills: adding wood chunks or checking coals normally means lifting off the full cooking grate. The EasySpin design turns instead, so a section stays clear over the fire while food stays undisturbed elsewhere on the surface. At about 1 lb, it is a grate accessory, not a full grill or a Slow 'N Sear insert on its own.
- EasySpin rotating design
- Material: stainless steel
- Fits 22 inch kettle grills
- Dimensions: 21.5 x 21.5 x 2 in
Who it's for
Owners of a 22 inch kettle charcoal grill who already use, or plan to add, a Slow 'N Sear style setup for indirect cooking are the fit. It will not fit smaller or larger kettle diameters.
Pros and cons
- Rotates for coal or wood chunk access without lifting the whole grate
- Stainless steel construction for direct heat exposure
- Sized specifically for 22 inch kettle grills
- Only fits 22 inch kettle grills, not other diameters
- Functions as a grate upgrade, not a complete grill
Performance notes
The grate rotates in place on the kettle's rim, so turning it exposes the fire or coal basket underneath without moving the food resting on the rest of the surface. Stainless steel construction is meant to hold up to direct heat over repeated cooks.
