DEWALT DWS715 Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw 12 Inch

Overview

An 1800 watt motor turning a 12 inch blade at 4500 RPM defines the DEWALT DWS715, a corded compound miter saw weighing 42.8 pounds built for a fixed cutting station.

This is DEWALT's well known 12 inch single bevel compound miter saw, built for crosscutting and angled cuts in framing and trim work. The 1800 watt motor at 4500 RPM is sized to keep a 12 inch blade running under load, while the 42.8 pound weight anchors it for stationary bench use rather than frequent carrying between sites. It runs on standard 120 volt corded power, so it needs an outlet or generator on site.

• 12 inch blade capacity
• 1800 watt motor
• 4500 RPM no load speed
• 42.8 pound item weight

Who it's for

Fits framers and trim carpenters running a fixed miter station who need 12 inch crosscut capacity. Less practical for anyone needing a saw light enough to move between jobsites daily or requiring cordless operation.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The 1800 watt motor drives the 12 inch blade at 4500 RPM, giving it enough power to hold speed through hardwood and dimensional lumber. At 42.8 pounds it sits stable on a bench without tipping during cuts, but that same weight makes it a two handed lift when moving it between locations.
