Overview
Not a wall unit or an insert, this ComfortBilt HP22N is a freestanding stove that burns pellet or wood fuel, with a bronze finish and stainless steel trim. It is vented, and the title names a large hopper.
The largest coverage area in a freestanding pellet stove with a hopper sized for long burn times is the reason to look at it. The limitation is the planning load: it is heavy, it must be vented, and the listing leaves out efficiency and what ships in the box.
Who it's for
Owners of a big living space or workshop who can plan the vent run and a firm floor for a heavy stove. The hopper size supports longer runs between refills. Smaller rooms or renters should consider a lighter heater.
Pros and cons
- Large heating coverage
- Big hopper for pellets
- Freestanding, no wall framing
- Stainless steel and wood build
- Very heavy to place
- Efficiency not listed
- Included parts not listed
- Vent details not given
Performance notes
Pellets move from the hopper to the burn area, and heat radiates from the body into the room while exhaust goes out through the vent. Hopper size sets the time between refills, and coverage in the listing applies to a large open area.
