Overview
Hanging it on a wall, recessing it flush or setting it on a stand are all options with this Dimplex Sierra, which plugs into a standard outlet. LED flames and ember colors change with three media beds, and the heater runs on its own switch.
Year round flame effects with optional heat suit living rooms where a real fireplace is not possible. A built in install takes framing work, while the wall and stand options are quick.
Who it's for
Apartments, media walls and bedrooms suit the slim depth and plug in setup. Those planning to heat a whole home should look at central heating.
Pros and cons
- Three install options
- Three media beds included
- Flames without heat in summer
- Remote and touch controls
- Built in install requires framing
- Heat output limited to supplemental use
Performance notes
Heat comes from a fan forced element that runs separately from the LED flame display, so ambiance and warmth are independent. The flame effect depends on the media bed and color settings, which change the look without affecting output.
