Overview
Not a standalone home router, the Winegard Gateway is an add-on that mounts on the RV ceiling and works with an existing Winegard Air antenna. It shares cellular, campground WiFi, hotspot or satellite internet across the camper.
RV owners with a Winegard Air antenna gain one hub that switches between campground WiFi, cellular and satellite as coverage changes. Without that antenna already on the roof, it has nothing to connect to.
Who it's for
Full-time travelers and remote workers in RVs already fitted with the Winegard Air antenna suit it. Anyone looking for a home router or a standalone hotspot should pass.
Pros and cons
- Switches between several internet sources
- Works with major carriers, no contract
- Pause or resume data plans
- Works with RV Halo Smart Sensors
- Requires an Air 360+ antenna on the roof
- Older wireless standard
Performance notes
Real speed depends on the strongest available source, whether cellular signal, campground WiFi or satellite. The router switches between inputs as coverage changes, while the single-band WiFi limits how fast devices inside the RV connect.
