Overview
Full array LED backlighting spreads light across the panel from directly behind it, which is the working part behind the picture on this Vizio D-Series set. The screen rests on a table mount stand or hangs from a wall bracket using the VESA pattern on the back. SmartCast and Chromecast built in pull apps and phone content onto the display over Wi-Fi or a wired connection.
A compact smart set that handles streaming without a separate box, since the apps and the casting tools are already inside. The remote controls power, volume and inputs, and the phone app repeats those jobs from another room. What holds it back is the HD panel and the small port count, so a household with several consoles or a taste for sharp detail should look elsewhere.
Who it's for
A second or third screen for a bedroom, kitchen counter or small apartment, where the built in apps do the heavy lifting. Someone building a main home theater around one display should pass, because the resolution and the port count are modest.
Pros and cons
- Streaming apps built into the TV
- Chromecast and phone casting supported
- Free channels through WatchFree
- Stand and remote included in the box
- HD resolution only, not full HD
- Two HDMI ports limit extra devices
- No HDR format listed
- Dimensions not listed
Performance notes
Picture quality follows the direct LED backlight and the panel resolution, so bright scenes and standard broadcasts look even, while fine detail is limited by the HD panel. Streaming depends on the Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection and the SmartCast platform, and the speakers handle everyday viewing without a soundbar. The stand and the VESA pattern decide placement, not the electronics.
