Overview
This Graco car seat, model 2173529, is rated for children up to 50 pounds and weighs 20.9 pounds itself. It uses a polyester cover and lists a freestanding installation type, and its age range is set to Kid rather than Infant.
A 50 pound capacity paired with a Kid age range points to a seat meant for a child past the infant stage rather than a rear-facing infant carrier. The installation is listed as freestanding, which is worth confirming against Graco's manual before assuming how it attaches in the vehicle.

- 20.9 lb seat weight
- Polyester cover material
- Kid age range
Who it's for
Parents of a toddler or young child within the 50 pound range. Not built for newborns, since the age range here is Kid, not Infant.
Pros and cons
- Rated to 50 pounds for an older toddler or young child
- 20.9 pound seat weight is moderate for moving between cars
- Installation details beyond 'freestanding' are not specified
Performance notes
Crash protection in any car seat depends heavily on getting the installation right, and since this listing only tells us the installation type is freestanding without further detail, confirming the attachment method against Graco's manual matters more here than the spec sheet alone.
