Overview
A gas charged damper tube with rubber bushings mounts at each rear corner of the Tacoma, and this set replaces the originals with N3 units sized for a stock height or a mild lift. The pair is painted and sold for rear positions only.
Matched shocks for leveling or mild lift use keep ride control in line with the new height. The limitation is a listing that disagrees with itself about the final model year and offers no valving or travel detail beyond the extended length.
Who it's for
Owners of four-wheel-drive Tacomas replacing worn rear shocks, or fitting them behind a small lift. Two-wheel-drive owners, and anyone with a larger lift, need a different length.
Pros and cons
- Pair of shocks in each set
- Rear position specific
- Covers a long span of model years
- Three year warranty
- End model year is inconsistent
- Valving not described
- Four-wheel-drive models only
Performance notes
Extended length decides how much the axle can drop before the shock tops out, which is why a lift range matters. The damper tube resists spring motion in both directions, and rubber bushings absorb road vibration at the mounts.
