Overview
Nutro Hearty Stew is a canned wet dog food sold as a 12-count case of 12.5 oz cans in a chicken and beef variety pack, with cuts of meat in gravy made without grains.
The variety pack splits between a chicken, carrot and pea stew and a beef, tomato, carrot and pea stew, so owners get two distinct recipes in one case rather than a single flavor. Real meat as the first ingredient and the grain-free formulation are the two claims Nutro leans on for this line.
- Chicken and beef stew variety pack
- Grain-free, cuts-in-gravy format
- 12.5 oz cans, 12-count case
- Made by Mars Petcare US
Who it's for
Owners wanting a grain-free canned variety pack to rotate flavors for an adult dog, or those supplementing dry kibble with wet food. Not for owners who prefer a single consistent flavor across a case.
Pros and cons
- Grain-free, real meat as first ingredient
- Two stew flavors in one case
- Standard 12.5 oz can size, 12-count case
- Mixed flavors mean less predictability can to can
- Canned format costs more per feeding than dry kibble
Performance notes
Cuts-in-gravy wet foods rely on the gravy for moisture and palatability, which is the format Nutro uses across both stew recipes here. The variety pack format means feeding amounts should still follow the case's overall calorie guidance rather than treating each can as identical in composition.
