Overview
Not a bundle with an SD adapter, the SanDisk Extreme here is the bare microSD card, rated for steady video recording and quick app loading. Top read speed needs a host device that supports it.
Large capacity, a video speed rating for high resolution recording and an app performance rating make it a strong fit for phones and drones. The missing adapter matters for anyone moving files through a full size SD slot.
Who it's for
Drone pilots, action camera users and Android phone owners who shoot a lot of video get room and speed. Photographers who rely on a full size SD slot should budget for an adapter.
Pros and cons
- Large capacity for long recordings
- Video speed rating for steady capture
- App performance rating for phones
- Rugged against water and temperature
- No SD adapter included
- Top speeds need compatible devices
- Write speed below read speed
- Easy to misplace at this size
Performance notes
Recording stability is governed by the card's sustained write rating, which is what the video speed class certifies. Transfer speeds to a computer depend on a reader that supports the faster read mode. App loading benefits from the app performance class only on phones that support it.
