Overview
Not a long downhill board, the Globe Chromantic is a compact cruiser with a mellow concave and a kick tail for carving around town. It arrives assembled with soft wheels, a clear grip and a rubber tailpad.
Soft wheels and a lightweight maple deck make it comfortable on rough pavement and easy to carry. The listing lists two deck widths and two truck descriptions, which makes exact specs hard to pin down.
Who it's for
Suited to teens and adults who cruise sidewalks and bike paths at easy speeds. Skaters chasing speed or park tricks should look at a longer board or a street deck.
Pros and cons
- Arrives fully assembled
- Soft wheels smooth rough pavement
- Resin glue lightens the deck
- Kick tail helps tight turns
- Deck width listed two ways
- Truck details conflict on listing
- Short wheelbase for high speed
Performance notes
Soft conical wheels roll over cracks and pebbles rather than stopping dead, which suits street cruising. The short wheelbase and kick tail favor quick turns over stability at speed.
