Overview
A student desk or teacher's corner with a nearby outlet is where this X-Acto Mighty Mite fits. Its Pencil Saver feature prevents oversharpening, and a slip-resistant bottom holds it steady.
Fewer broken tips is the main benefit, along with an easy-to-empty bin and a motor cutout when the bin is off. Colored pencils work as well as graphite ones. Pencil size limits and motor power are not given.
Who it's for
Students, teachers and home offices that sharpen a handful of pencils each day. The compact body saves desk room. A busy shared classroom should look at the heavy duty X-Acto line instead.
Pros and cons
- Stops before oversharpening
- Safety stop with bin removed
- Works with colored pencils
- Corded power only
- Not marketed as heavy duty
- Pencil size range not listed
Performance notes
Pencil Saver shuts the motor off once the tip is formed, so less wood and lead are wasted. SafeStart cuts power whenever the bin is out. The rubber base resists sliding during use.
