ASIN: B087PDQZBSModel: EDR3RXD1Category: Refrigerator Water Filters
Overview
A three-pack refrigerator water filter engineered to replace Whirlpool's EDR3RXD1 (Filter 3), 4396841 and 4396710, plus the equivalent Kenmore 46-9083 and 46-9030 cartridges, built on coconut shell carbon block certified to NSF standards 42 and 372.
This is a replacement cartridge, not an appliance, so fit is the only question that matters. Each filter ships with a sticker set for tracking the roughly 6 month or 300 gallon replacement interval.
- Coconut shell carbon block filtration
- NSF 42 and 372 certified
- Fits EDR3RXD1, 4396841, 4396710, Kenmore 46-9083/46-9030 and related W10 part numbers
- 6 month or 300 gallon rated life
Who it's for
Owners of a fridge that takes the EDR3RXD1, Filter 3, 4396710 or Kenmore 46-9083/46-9030 cartridge who want a lower-cost three-pack instead of reordering single OEM filters. Not useful for any other filter housing shape.
Pros and cons
- Tool-free twist-in install
- NSF 42 and 372 certified for lead-free materials
- Three-pack costs less than single OEM cartridges
- Includes month-tracking install stickers
- Only fits the specific model list, not universal
- No independent lifespan data beyond the stated 6 months or 300 gallons
Performance notes
The cartridge uses coconut shell carbon block, which Maxblue says offers more surface area and micropores than standard carbon block, to reduce chlorine, odor, heavy metals and other listed impurities. It is NSF 42 and 372 certified for lead-free materials and installs by twisting into place without tools.
