Overview
Moozica makes this seventeen-key kalimba with a mahogany wood body and metal keys, finished in piano lacquer. It comes with a case and is meant to be played with the thumbs.
The reason to look at it is the compact, gift-ready package, with a wooden body and a lacquered look. The limitation is how little is said about tuning, note layout and accessories.
Who it's for
Beginners and gift givers who want a simple pocket instrument will find the basics covered. Players who need to know the tuning, or who want accessories confirmed, should ask the seller first.
Pros and cons
- Mahogany wood body
- Piano lacquer finish
- Small and light
- Note layout and tuning not stated
- Finish field says metal
- Title calls it a marimba mbira
Performance notes
Metal tines on a wooden body vibrate when plucked with the thumbs, and the hollow body amplifies and shapes the sound. The tuning and note layout are not described, so the playable range is unknown.
