Overview
Eurobike's HYXC550 is a 21-speed road bike with a carbon-steel frame, mechanical dual disc brakes and 700x28C tires, sold in 49cm and 54cm frame sizes for riders roughly 5'5 to 6'1.
One buyer at 5'10 on the 54cm frame called the fit right, the disc brakes quick to stop, and the steel frame worth the extra weight for its durability.
- Shimano 21-speed drivetrain
- Mechanical dual disc brakes
- Carbon-steel frame, 49cm and 54cm sizes
- 700x28C tires
Who it's for
Fits first-time road bike buyers who prioritize a durable steel frame over minimum weight and who fall within the two available frame size ranges.
Pros and cons
- Mechanical dual disc brakes stopped quickly for one buyer
- Steel frame offers durability over lighter alternatives
- Two frame sizes covering roughly 5'5 to 6'1
- About 85% pre-assembled with a video guide
- Heavier than aluminum or carbon-frame alternatives
- One reviewer called the frame and brake quality weak for the price
Performance notes
The Shimano 21-speed drivetrain shifts across different road conditions, and the mechanical dual disc brakes are meant to outperform rim brakes on wet or muddy descents. The carbon-steel frame trades some weight for the durability steel is known for.
