Overview
A coating over phosphor bronze windings slows the corrosion that dulls strings, so these Stringjoy Foxwoods hold their bright tone longer. The light gauge balances easy fretting with full acoustic sound.
Longer life with bright tone is why to choose coated strings like these. The listing gives only the outer gauges, not each string, which matters to players fine tuning their setup.
Who it's for
Beginners and gigging players who do not change strings often will benefit from the coating. Classical guitarists need nylon strings.
Pros and cons
- Coating extends string life
- Bright phosphor bronze tone
- Light gauge is easy to fret
- Made in house in Nashville
- Individual gauges not listed
- Short warranty window
Performance notes
Phosphor bronze gives a bright, resonant tone, and the coating seals out sweat and dirt that kill brightness. Light gauge lowers tension for easier bends and chords. Coated strings can feel slightly smoother under the fingers.
