Overview
PlayStation owners who want to try virtual reality get the headset, the camera with its stand, a processor unit and every listed cable in one box. A voucher for PlayStation VR Worlds gives them something to play from day one.
Everything beyond the console arrives together, which removes the guesswork of matching a camera, cables and power. Setup is cable-heavy, with a processor unit and several leads running between the headset and the console.
Who it's for
Living room PlayStation setups suit this kit, which bundles the camera, stand and cabling. Players who expect motion controllers in the box, or who game only on PC, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Camera and stand included
- Game voucher for PlayStation VR Worlds
- PS5 camera adaptor in the box
- Stereo headphones and earpieces included
- No motion controllers in the set
- Many cables and a separate processor unit
- Field of view not reliably listed
Performance notes
Head movement is read by the gyroscope and accelerometer in the headset, and the PlayStation Camera on its stand watches the play space, so where the camera is placed shapes how well movement registers. Picture detail is bounded by the headset's display resolution.
