Overview
A Bluetooth adapter on the diagnostic port links the car to coding software on a phone, which handles diagnostics and coding for BMW and Mini models.
Coding support for a specific brand family is the point, and phone support covers both iOS and Android. The limitation is that the listing gives little on the exact features and supported model years.
Who it's for
Enthusiasts who customize features on their own BMW or Mini can use the adapter with a phone. Owners of other makes, and anyone wanting a screen on the tool itself, should choose something else.
Pros and cons
- Aimed at BMW and Mini coding
- Works with iOS and Android
- Powered by the vehicle
- Warranty card and guide included
- Supported coding functions not described
- Model year coverage unclear
- No screen on the adapter
Performance notes
The adapter relays data between the car's modules and the phone over Bluetooth, so the coding and diagnostic depth comes from the software, not the hardware. A stable connection matters during coding, since an interrupted write can cause errors. Power from the vehicle means there is no battery to manage.
