A light, pocketable SSD that works across Windows and Mac over USB-C, easy to recommend for travel backups. The listing quotes only a read speed, so write performance is unknown.

Overview
SSD storage behind a single USB-C port turns the Seagate One Touch into a pocket backup drive. Plug it into a Windows PC or a Mac and it works as an external drive, while an Android app can copy phone photos and videos onto it.
Speed and size make the case here: large photo and video folders move quickly, and the drive disappears into a jacket pocket. Write speed is not published, so anyone filling it with huge files should treat the read figure as the upper bound.
Who it's for
Travel days, laptop work away from the desk and phone photo backups are the setting here. Someone who needs storage that lives inside a desktop tower, or an iPhone backup app named in the listing, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Pocket-sized and very light
- Fast quoted read speed
- USB-C plug and play setup
- Works with Windows and Mac
- Write speed not listed
- No iPhone app mentioned
- Quoted speed is a peak read figure
Performance notes
Real transfer rates depend on the USB-C port the drive is plugged into, since the host port has to support the full speed for the quoted figure to apply. That figure is a peak read speed, so copying files onto the drive may run differently.
