Overview
Step2 builds this cottage playhouse from double-walled plastic with a Dutch-style door, a working doorbell, a skylight and a molded-in sink for pretend house play. It goes indoors or out, and the shelves, fireplace and outdoor tabletop give toddlers small stations to move between.
Detail density earns this cottage its floor space: a doorbell, a split door, a fireplace and a sink give small kids several roles to act out. Its footprint is large for an indoor room, so measure before bringing it inside.
Who it's for
Toddlers and preschoolers who love pretend house play get the most from the door, bell and sink. Families short on floor space, or kids craving climbing and sliding, will find it too bulky or too calm.
Pros and cons
- Working doorbell for pretend visitors
- Dutch-style door and skylight
- Plastic resists fading, chipping and cracking
- Works indoors and outdoors
- Doorbell power source not listed
- Large footprint for indoor rooms
- Heavy to relocate once assembled
- No slide or climbing features
Performance notes
Durability rests on the double-walled plastic shell, which Step2 says resists chipping, fading, cracking and peeling in sun and rain. Play value comes from how many separate stations a child can move between, from the sink to the fireplace to the outdoor tabletop.
