Overview
A flat mahogany bowl, face and neck make up the body of this electric baglama saz, which carries twenty-three alloy steel strings. It is listed as operating electrically and ships with a plectrum.
The reason to consider it is the all-mahogany build in a slim, flat shape that is set up for amplified playing, with the basic accessories included. The limitation is that the electronics, tuning and scale are not described.
Who it's for
Players of Turkish folk music who want an amplified instrument without a deep bowl will find the flat body practical. Buyers who need details on the pickup, string courses or dimensions should ask the seller first.
Pros and cons
- All-mahogany bowl, face and neck
- Alloy steel strings
- Extra strings included
- Soft case included
- No pickup details
- Tuning not described
- Brand name differs from the manufacturer
Performance notes
The flat mahogany body carries less acoustic volume than a deep bowl, so the sound depends on an amplifier. Steel strings give a bright attack, and the large string count follows the paired courses of the instrument. The plectrum sets how the strings are struck.
