Overview
Razer built the Strider as a hybrid mat: a firm, slick top surface for hard pad glide over a soft base that rolls up for travel. A grooved rubber underside anchors it, and stitching guards the edges from fraying.
Glide speed without a rigid pad is the reason to look at the Strider. Fast swipes stop with less drag than on cloth, yet it still rolls into a bag. The large size suits mouse movement, not a full keyboard setup.
Who it's for
Competitive players who want a quick glide and need a mat that survives a backpack. Those who like a high stopping power cloth feel should stay with traditional fabric.
Pros and cons
- Hard pad glide on a soft mat
- Rolls up and returns flat
- Grooved underside resists sliding
- Stitched edges against fraying
- Mouse area only, no keyboard space
- Less stopping power than traditional cloth
- One year warranty only
Performance notes
Speed comes from the firm surface layer, which lets the mouse feet glide with little drag while still giving the sensor a consistent texture. The soft base cushions the wrist and its thickness prevents warping after the mat has been rolled.
