Overview
Motorola's VM85CONNECT is a video baby monitor with a 720p camera and Night Color vision, connecting wirelessly so parents can watch a nursery from another room. It weighs about 0.62 kg and runs on corded electric power, making it a fixed installation rather than a battery unit.
Night Color vision is the detail that sets this apart from typical infrared-only monitors, rendering a colored rather than grey image after dark for finer detail. No display size, audio range or two-way talk specs are listed, so this page covers only what's confirmed.
- 720p camera resolution
- Night Color low light vision
- Wireless connectivity
- Corded electric power
Who it's for
Parents who want a plug-in nursery camera with clearer low light detail than a standard infrared monitor gives. Not a fit for anyone needing a battery powered or fully portable unit for travel, since it runs on corded power only.
Pros and cons
- 720p resolution for a sharper nursery view
- Night Color vision shows detail without a grey infrared wash
- Wireless streaming avoids running a cable to a monitor screen
- Corded electric power only, no battery or portable use
- No listed audio, range or two-way talk specs
Performance notes
Wireless connectivity streams the 720p feed to a paired display or app while the camera itself stays plugged in near the crib. Night Color vision draws on the camera's low light sensor to show a colored view of the room after dark instead of the grey wash typical of infrared cameras.
