Overview
The RIDGID R86240B is a router built for shaping edges, cutting grooves and hollowing recessed areas in wood, sized for workshop and jobsite trim work.
Routers are judgment tools: the base, collet and bit determine what a job needs, and this listing does not publish motor, voltage or collet detail beyond the model number. What is confirmed is demand, about 100 units moved in the past month, which for a router points to steady, repeat trade use rather than a one-off purchase.
- RIDGID branded router
- Model R86240B
Who it's for
Suited to woodworkers and remodelers who already use RIDGID's tool platform and need a router for edge profiles, dadoes or recess work. Not the pick for someone comparing detailed spec sheets before buying, since power, voltage and collet size are not listed here.
Pros and cons
- Backed by an established power tool brand
- Steady recent purchase volume signals ongoing demand
- No published power, voltage or collet specs listed
- Compatible bits and base type are not documented here
Performance notes
Router performance comes down to motor speed control, collet size and base stability, none of which are listed for the R86240B in this catalog. Buyers evaluating cut quality and control should confirm these details directly from RIDGID before ordering.
