Overview
The Bosch GEX12V-5N is a battery powered sander running on Bosch's 12 volt platform, spinning at up to 10000 RPM while weighing just 1.8 pounds.
At 5 amps and 12 volts, it draws on Bosch's compact battery system rather than the larger 18 volt professional line, positioning it for detail and touch up sanding over heavy stock removal. The 7.6 by 6 by 4.3 inch footprint keeps it small enough for one handed use in tight spots.
- 12 volt battery powered motor
- Up to 10000 RPM speed
- 1.8 pound weight
- 7.6 x 6 x 4.3 inch dimensions
Who it's for
Suits woodworkers and DIYers doing finish sanding, detail work, or touch ups where a cordless, lightweight tool matters more than raw sanding speed. Less suited to stripping large flat surfaces where a corded random orbital would cover ground faster.
Pros and cons
- Light at 1.8 pounds for one handed use
- Reaches tight spots in a compact size
- Cordless on Bosch's 12 volt platform
- 12 volt platform trades power for portability
Performance notes
Running on 12 volts and 5 amps, the motor spins the pad up to 10000 RPM, giving it enough speed for finish sanding while the 1.8 pound body keeps hand fatigue low during overhead or vertical work. Its 7.6 by 6 by 4.3 inch size lets it reach corners and edges that larger sanders cannot.
