Overview
This version of the shepherd's sling has a larger pouch sized for a tennis ball, aimed at throwing fetch distance for a dog rather than just stones. It uses 550lb rated, 7-strand paracord and a leather handle, at roughly 95 inches (2.4m) long.
Same hand-swung throwing tool as a traditional shepherd's sling, but the wider pouch is the key difference: it is built to also carry a tennis ball, golf ball, or piece of wood, not only a stone. An adjustable release knot lets the leather handle length change to suit the user.
- Large pouch sized for tennis balls
- 550lb rated 7-strand paracord construction
- Approximately 95 inch (2.4m) adjustable length
- Also throws golf balls, stones, and wood
Who it's for
Fits dog owners wanting extra throwing distance for tennis ball fetch, plus anyone wanting a multi-purpose hand sling for stones, golf balls, or wood. Not for anyone expecting a bands-and-frame slingshot.
Pros and cons
- Pouch sized for tennis balls, not just stones
- 550lb rated 7-strand paracord
- Adjustable release knot for custom length
- Also handles golf balls, stones, and wood
- Not an elastic-band slingshot, so it needs a swing technique to use
Performance notes
The 550lb-rated 7-strand paracord is built to handle the swing forces of throwing, while the wider leather pouch is sized to seat a tennis ball rather than only a stone. An adjustable release knot at the leather handle lets the working length change for the user's swing.
