Overview
A gamer who wants a big screen for a PlayStation 5 gets a Sony TV that upscales to 8K and runs at a high refresh rate. The Mini LED backlight is split into many controlled zones, so bright highlights and deep blacks hold their shape. Movies, streaming apps and voice control all live in the Google TV interface.
Picture quality comes from thousands of tiny LEDs behind the screen, each group dimmed on its own, which is why dark scenes keep their depth while bright scenes stay clean. The same panel runs at a fast refresh for console play, with settings gathered in one menu. Buyers who do not need the highest resolution or the bundled camera may find the feature set larger than their room requires.
Who it's for
A living room or media room with enough wall space for the largest screen in this series and a console or streaming box to feed it. The included camera and 8K panel suit someone who wants video chat and future-proof resolution. Someone shopping for a smaller bedroom TV or a set that includes a wall bracket should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Mini LED zones deliver deep blacks
- High refresh rate suits fast console games
- Four HDMI ports for multiple devices
- Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced support
- Wall mount not included
- 8K content still limited
- Table stand only, no wall bracket
- Camera may not suit every buyer
Performance notes
The backlight divides the screen into many dimming zones, so contrast depends on how precisely each zone can brighten or darken without bleeding into its neighbors. Motion handling comes from the panel refresh and the processing that fills frames between them. Game mode cuts the processing delay so controller input reaches the screen sooner, which matters most in fast titles.
