Overview
THKFISH's practice plug set bundles 7 mixed-size plugs built from plastic, rubber and stainless steel, each weighing about 0.75 oz, for casting practice without live bait or hooks. It's aimed at anglers building casting accuracy rather than at anyone fishing on the water.
Practice plugs stand in for lures during casting drills, letting an angler dial in distance and accuracy in a yard or open field before a trip. A mix of sizes in one set lets the caster match plug weight to the rod and reel they intend to fish with.
- 7 pieces, mixed sizes
- Plastic, rubber and stainless steel construction
- About 0.75 oz per plug
- Designed for weight casting practice
Who it's for
Fits anglers, especially beginners or those breaking in a new rod and reel combo, who want to build casting accuracy before heading out. Not useful for anyone looking for an on-water lure, since these plugs are not designed to attract fish.
Pros and cons
- 7 plugs in mixed sizes for varied casting practice
- Durable mixed materials
- No hooks, safer for casting drills
- Not usable as an actual fishing lure
- Individual plug weights within the set are not broken out
Performance notes
A spread of sizes across the seven plugs lets a caster practice with weights closer to what they will actually fish, since casting feel changes with plug weight. Mixed plastic, rubber and stainless steel construction keeps the set durable through repeated casts on hard ground or pavement.
