ONN 100026240 Android TV 4K UHD Streaming Device

Overview

Running Google's TV platform, the ONN 100026240 streams at up to 4K UHD and connects over HDMI and Wi-Fi. At 0.7 lb it is a small plug-in device rather than a standalone box needing its own shelf space.

Running through the Google TV interface gives access to the Play Store's app catalog, so channel and app availability follows what Google supports rather than a closed proprietary system. Output tops out at 4K UHD, matching current 4K television resolution, and the connection is Wi-Fi only, with no wired ethernet option mentioned in the spec sheet.

Who it's for

Buyers wanting a 4K streaming device tied to the Google TV app ecosystem, plugged directly into an HDMI port. Less suited to anyone who needs a wired network connection, since only Wi-Fi is listed.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Output resolution is capped at 4K UHD, so picture quality on a 4K display scales to the source content up to that ceiling, while the Google TV platform handles app switching and search across the Play Store catalog. HDMI carries both picture and sound to the television, and Wi-Fi is the only listed method for pulling content from the internet, so a strong wireless signal in the room matters for streaming stability.
