Overview
Splashing through creek crossings and scrambling over wet rock is what the Topo Trailventure is made for, with a waterproof bootie and a Vibram Megagrip sole. A full-length rock plate blocks sharp stones, and a wide toe box lets toes spread.
Waterproofing, a rock plate and sticky rubber give real protection without a heavy leather boot. The stack is tall and cushioned, so ground feel is reduced.
Who it's for
Hikers with wider forefeet who cover technical terrain fast and want dry feet. Backpackers carrying very heavy loads may want a stiffer boot.
Pros and cons
- Waterproof eVent bootie
- Grippy Vibram Megagrip
- Full-length rock plate
- Roomy toe box
- Tall stack reduces ground feel
- Wide width not listed
- Synthetic upper only
Performance notes
Megagrip rubber holds traction on wet rock, while the rock plate spreads pressure from sharp points. The heel counter and wide platform add stability on uneven ground.
