Zephyr Monsoon Mini II AK9540AS Range Hood Insert 42 Inch

Overview

The Zephyr Monsoon Mini II is a 42 inch convertible insert range hood rated 600 CFM, built to mount inside a custom hood liner or enclosure rather than stand alone. LED lighting and a stainless steel finish match the rest of the Zephyr range hood lineup.

As an insert, this unit is meant to be hidden inside custom cabinetry or a decorative liner rather than shown as the finished hood itself, which is a different installation than the ducted under-cabinet hoods Zephyr also sells. Convertible venting means it can run ducted to the outside or in recirculating mode depending on the kitchen setup.

• 42 inch insert width
• 600 CFM rated airflow
• Convertible ducted or recirculating venting
• LED lighting, stainless steel

Who it's for

Fits a kitchen where a custom wood or metal hood enclosure is being built and needs an insert blower behind it. Not the choice if you want a hood that is finished and ready to mount on its own, since this is designed to disappear inside other cabinetry.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The 600 CFM rating applies in ducted mode; recirculating mode filters and returns air to the room instead of venting outside, which is typically the lower-performing of the two options on convertible inserts generally.
