Overview
An Air Multiplier loop draws distant air into a sealed filter that captures particles and breaks down formaldehyde in this Dyson tower. Fan mode blows cooled air with oscillation, and Backwards mode purifies without a draft.
Formaldehyde destruction targets fumes from new furniture and flooring that a standard HEPA filter does not catch. The listing gives no room size, noise or power figure to size it by.
Who it's for
Bedrooms and living rooms with recent renovations or new furniture get the formaldehyde sensing and destruction. Shoppers who need heating as well should look at a hot and cool model.
Pros and cons
- Breaks down formaldehyde
- Cooling fan and purifier in one
- Backwards mode for no draft
- Quiet Night mode with dim display
- Room coverage not listed
- No heating mode
Performance notes
Pollutant capture depends on the Air Multiplier drawing air from across the room into the wraparound filter, then projecting clean air back out. Formaldehyde is handled separately from particles, with the machine sensing it and breaking it down rather than only trapping it.
