Overview

This is a 5x7 Boho-style area rug from Nakagishi in beige and brown, made of polyester with a TPE rubber non-slip backing. It is machine washable and marketed as stain resistant and safe for kids and pets.

The tradeoffs show up at the edges: this is a low-pile, lightweight rug, which is what makes it washable, but the same thinness means it is not built to survive a determined chewer or a vacuum with strong suction.

5x7 size, beige and brown Boho pattern
Machine washable, air dry
TPE rubber non-slip backing
Polyester, stain resistant

Who it's for

Good for a living room, bedroom or nursery where softness and easy washing matter more than a thick, plush pile. Not a fit for households with a fabric-chewing pet or a vacuum that struggles with thin, low-pile rugs.

Pros and cons

Pros

Non-slip TPE backing grips hard floors

Cons

Low pile is not chew-resistant per one reviewer
Thin enough to get pulled into some vacuums
Not very thick underfoot per one reviewer

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nakagishi rug durable against pets?

It holds up to general pet and kid use, but one reviewer's rabbit chewed holes through it, so it is not chew-proof.
