Overview
Logitech built the Mevo Core as a box style live streaming camera that takes Micro Four Thirds lenses and streams straight to YouTube or Twitch over Wi-Fi. Several units can be switched from the Mevo Multicam app for a small multicam production.
Interchangeable lenses and wireless multicam control give solo creators a broadcast style setup without a switcher or capture card. The box contains no lens, and the longest battery life applies only to lower resolution streaming.
Who it's for
Streamers, podcasters and event producers who want lens choice and app based switching across cameras. Home office users who only need a desk webcam will find a simpler camera easier.
Pros and cons
- Interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lenses
- Wireless multicam with app control
- Built in battery for cable free shoots
- HDMI, NDI and SRT outputs
- Body only, lens sold separately
- Full battery life only at lower resolution
- Digital stabilization only
Performance notes
Image quality depends heavily on the lens you mount, since the sensor sees through whatever Micro Four Thirds glass is attached. Wireless streaming quality rides on the Wi-Fi network, which is why the newer Wi-Fi standard matters for multicam. Battery runtime drops when recording at full resolution compared with lighter streaming loads.
