Overview
Not a card-only camera you have to walk out and check, the Muddy Matrix is a cellular trail camera that sends images over AT&T or Verizon to an app on your phone. It switches to whichever carrier has the stronger signal and can take photos or video on demand.
Dual carrier coverage is the reason to look at this one, since it removes the guesswork about which network reaches your hunting spot. Sharing with other Command app users suits a hunting group. Power and plan details are thin in the listing.
Who it's for
Hunters and land managers watching a stand or food plot from home, especially where one carrier is weak. People who prefer storing images on a card with no monthly plan should look at a non cellular model.
Pros and cons
- Two carriers covered with preinstalled SIMs
- On demand photo and video requests
- Camera sharing with other app users
- Video records with audio
- Battery type not listed
- Data plan terms not stated
- Only splash level weather rating
Performance notes
Image delivery depends on cell signal at the camera, and the automatic carrier switch is what holds that link up. Night shots rely on the infrared flash, whose reach sets how far out a deer can be lit. A low ingress rating means sheltering it from driving rain helps.
