Overview
Built for holiday lighting and yard decorations, the HBN CP-U201D is a mechanical timer outlet rated 15A and 1/2 HP with two grounded outlets and a dial that repeats the same 24-hour schedule every day.
Each pin on the dial covers a 30-minute window, giving 24 on/off options across the day, and the housing is built to resist dust, sunlight and wear over repeated seasonal use outdoors. HBN backs it with a year of coverage plus what it calls lifetime tech support from a US-based team.
- 24-hour mechanical dial, 24 on/off options
- 15A, 1/2HP, 2 grounded outlets
- Weatherproof transparent cover
- 1 year warranty plus lifetime tech support
Who it's for
Fits holiday lighting, yard lights and other outdoor decorations that run on the same daily schedule through changing weather. Not intended for indoor use or loads beyond its 1/2 HP rating.
Pros and cons
- Two grounded outlets rated 15A, 1/2 HP for outdoor equipment
- Transparent waterproof cover built for dust, sun and wear
- 1 year coverage plus lifetime tech support
- Fewer on/off options per day than some competing mechanical timers
- Must be mounted vertically at least 2ft above ground for waterproofing to work
Performance notes
The transparent waterproof cover allows the current schedule to be checked at a glance while shielding the mechanism, and HBN specifies mounting it vertically at least 2 feet above the ground for the waterproofing to hold up. At 15A and 1/2 HP, it covers lighting loads and small outdoor equipment.
