Overview
A hallway or stair opening gets a barrier that spans from a narrow doorway out to a wide landing. The gate presses between two surfaces or bolts to them, and the walk through door closes on its own latch after each pass. Metal construction in white holds the frame slim against trim and walls.
Two mounting routes in one box means the same gate can move from a rental doorway to a permanent stair top without a second purchase. The auto close latch removes the forgotten open gate problem. Height is the limit here: at thirty inches it clears a toddler but not a large dog that can vault it.
Who it's for
Homes with a baby crawling toward stairs or a small dog that needs a boundary get a self closing barrier that adults walk through. Measure the opening first, because the frame spans a set range and nothing beyond it. Households with a big athletic dog should look at a taller gate.
Pros and cons
- Auto close latch shuts the door behind you
- Pressure or hardware mounting, buyer's choice
- Walk through door for adults
- Metal frame in white
- Thirty inch height only
- No weight capacity listed
- No included components listed
- Stair use needs the hardware option
Performance notes
A pressure gate holds by friction between two flat surfaces, so the fit of the pads against the wall or banister decides how rigid it feels. The auto close mechanism relies on the latch alignment staying true, which means rechecking the tension after the first weeks of use. Hardware mounting changes the equation at a stair top, where a pressure frame can shift under a push.

Frequently asked questions
Is the keny Baby Gate a pressure gate only?
No. The listing gives pressure mounted or hardware mounted as the mounting type, so it can be pressed into a doorway or fixed with hardware. For a stair top, hardware mounting is the route the mounting type points to.
What opening does the keny stair gate cover?
The gate spans 29 to 42.5 inches wide and stands 30 inches tall. Measure the gap before ordering, because anything outside that range is not covered by the frame.
Does the keny dog gate close by itself?
Yes, the closure type is auto close, so the walk through door latches behind a person or pet that passes through it.
Can the keny gate be used at the top of stairs?
The listing allows pressure or hardware mounting, and hardware mounting is the option that suits a stair top. The gate height is 30 inches, so confirm that against whoever or whatever it needs to hold back.
What is the keny Baby Gate made of?
The frame is metal, finished in white, and the unit weighs 5.51 kilograms. No other included components are stated in the listing.
