Overview
The Wishbety Ja-50 is a 16x magnification night vision device in a gunmetal gray plastic and rubber housing, measuring 8.74 x 6.93 x 3.27 inches and weighing under a pound.
At 16x, the Ja-50 sits toward the higher end of magnification for a handheld night vision unit, and the rubberized housing suggests it is built for outdoor grip and some drop resistance.
- 16x magnification
- Plastic and rubber housing
- Gunmetal gray finish
- 0.89 lb weight
Who it's for
Hunters, campers, and outdoor observers who want a higher-magnification night vision device for low-light viewing. Less suited to anyone expecting a rugged all-metal build, since the housing is plastic and rubber rather than aluminum.
Pros and cons
- 16x magnification is high for the category
- Lightweight at 0.89 lb
- Rubberized housing aids grip
- Plastic and rubber build, not metal
- No stated detection range
Performance notes
The 16x magnification gives more reach than typical entry-level night vision devices, and at 0.89 lb the unit is light enough to hold for extended viewing, with the plastic and rubber housing keeping weight down compared to metal-bodied alternatives.
