Overview
This UBeesize accessory is a large fiberglass mat, about 76 by 48 inches and just 0.15 inches thick, finished with a thickened fireproof coating and weighing 1.4 pounds.
At 76 x 48 inches, the mat is sized to sit under a full grill or smoker rather than serve as a small splatter guard, and the fireproof coating points to deck and patio protection from grease drips and heat rather than a cooking surface itself. Fiberglass keeps the mat light at 1.4 pounds despite its footprint, which also makes it easy to roll or fold for storage.
- 76 x 48 in coverage
- Fiberglass construction
- Thickened fireproof coating
- 1.4 lb, 0.15 in thick
Who it's for
Grill and smoker owners who want to protect a wood deck, patio or garage floor from grease stains and heat marks underneath their cooking setup.
Pros and cons
- Large 76 x 48 inch coverage area
- Fireproof coating for deck and patio protection
- Lightweight at 1.4 lb for easy handling
- Large size may be more than needed for small grills
- Thin 0.15 inch profile may show wear over time
Performance notes
The fiberglass base and thickened fireproof coating are the mat's core defense against grease and radiant heat reaching the floor beneath a grill. Its thin 0.15 inch profile keeps it low enough to sit unobtrusively under equipment while still covering a wide area, and the 1.4 pound weight makes it easy to lift, shake out and store between uses.
