Overview
A desk or bookshelf system gets its speaker power from the Fosi Audio amp, a compact two channel unit that runs from an external power adapter. It is a power amplifier, so a source or preamp feeds it and it drives the speakers.
A small chassis with a bundled power adapter lets the Fosi Audio amp add speaker drive to a desk without a full size receiver. Its spec sheet is sparse: inputs, impedance and per channel ratings are absent, so matching it to speakers takes some homework.
Who it's for
Listeners building a small stereo system around a separate DAC or preamp get a compact power stage with its own adapter. Someone who wants a single all in one receiver with built in sources should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Power adapter included in the box
- Compact chassis for desks and shelves
- Wide supply voltage range listed
- Long manufacturer warranty
- Inputs and outputs not listed
- Power given as one total figure
- No remote among included components
- Needs a separate source or preamp
Performance notes
Output into real speakers depends on the supply voltage and the speaker load, and the listing rates power as one figure without stating impedance. Running from the bundled adapter at its top rated voltage gives the amp its full headroom, while a lower voltage supply reduces it. Speaker sensitivity decides how loud a given setting plays.
