Overview
Weighing about 0.3 kilograms with a carbon fiber body, the KastKing KRLCSTRLP-80RTL is a right handed spinning reel geared at 8.0:1 for fast line pickup. It targets anglers who want quick retrieve speed for reaction baits and topwater work.
Carbon fiber construction keeps the reel light without giving up frame rigidity, and the 8.0:1 ratio moves a lot of line per handle turn. That combination favors anglers burning baits back quickly or taking up slack fast on a hookset over those who need heavy cranking torque.
- 8.0:1 gear ratio
- Carbon fiber build
- 0.3 kg weight
- Right handed retrieve
Who it's for
Anglers who fish reaction baits or topwater and want fast line pickup from a light spinning reel. Less suited to techniques that call for slow, high torque cranking.
Pros and cons
- Carbon fiber body near 0.3 kg
- 8.0:1 gear ratio for fast pickup
- Right hand retrieve
- High speed ratio sacrifices cranking torque
- Listing gives no drag weight or bearing count
Performance notes
An 8.0:1 ratio trades cranking power for speed, so it suits moving baits quickly rather than grinding out fish on heavy drag.
