Overview
A backyard on a clear night is where this refractor goes to work. Its multi-coated lenses feed a Kellner eyepiece, and the altazimuth mount lets you point it up and across by hand.
The reason to buy is a bundle that includes a tripod, two eyepieces, a Barlow lens, a finder and a phone adapter. The limit is manual aiming only and a zoom claim that the listing does not break down.
Who it's for
A family or beginner who wants to look at the moon and bright planets and snap phone photos will get what they need. Anyone planning long exposures or computerized finding should look at other equipment.
Pros and cons
- Large aperture listed
- Fully multi-coated optics
- Two eyepieces and a Barlow lens
- Phone adapter included
- Manual aiming only
- Zoom figure is unexplained
- Long tube is awkward to carry
Performance notes
Aperture sets how much light the telescope gathers, and the focal length with each eyepiece sets the magnification. The Barlow lens multiplies the eyepiece power. A steady tripod matters because high power shows every vibration.
