Overview
A five-layer filter cartridge does the work in this aftermarket refill for Zero pitchers and dispensers. Water passes through activated carbon and further layers that remove TDS and reduce lead, chromium and chlorine before it reaches the jug.
Broad model coverage across Zero pitchers and dispensers is the reason to look here, along with a layered design aimed at TDS. These are not original filters, and the volume per cartridge is small, so heavy use means frequent changes. The seller covers quality problems for a short window only.
Who it's for
Owners of the Zero pitcher and dispenser models named in the list who go through filters quickly can stock up here. Those who insist on genuine cartridges, or whose model is missing from the list, should skip it.
Pros and cons
- Covers a long list of Zero models
- Reduces lead, chromium and chlorine
- Targets TDS, not just taste
- Four cartridges per pack
- Aftermarket filter, not an original cartridge
- Small rated volume per cartridge
- Life varies with local water quality
- Spec sheet also names Brita jugs, fit unclear
Performance notes
Throughput is set by how quickly water drains through the layered media, and the maker quotes a time for a full gallon. Dissolved minerals gradually load the filter media, so tap water with more minerals uses up a cartridge sooner. Smell and taste improvement comes from the activated carbon.
