Overview
A double-wide outdoor hammock in poly-cotton fabric, sized with a 98 by 59 inch bed for two people, sold without hanging hooks.
The fabric is a thicker poly-cotton blend that Suncreat says resists linting, odor and pilling compared to standard hammock fabric, and the 18 braided ropes at each end run through a metal thimble specifically to stop the rope wearing against the tree strap over time.
- 98 x 59 inch double-size bed
- 144 inches loop to loop
- 18 braided poly-cotton ropes per end with metal thimble
- Works indoors or outdoors
Who it's for
Couples or anyone wanting a wide hammock for lounging rather than a single-person camping hammock. Works indoors or outdoors, but buyers need their own hooks or a stand since none are included.
Pros and cons
- 98 x 59 inch bed comfortably fits two people
- Metal rope thimble reduces strap-on-rope wear
- Fabric resists linting, odor and pilling
- Hanging hooks sold separately
- 144 inch length needs a wide gap between anchor points
Performance notes
The metal rope thimble is the detail that matters most for longevity, since it takes the friction between the hanging strap and the rope that would otherwise fray the poly-cotton braid over repeated use. Eighteen ropes per end spread the load bearing across many strands rather than a few thick ones, which is how the hammock supports two adults across a 98 inch wide bed.
