Overview
Folding flat into a bag, the JBL Tune headset pairs over Bluetooth with two devices at once and runs adaptive noise cancelling that adjusts to the room. Buttons on the ear cup handle calls and playback, and the JBL Headphones app sets EQ and ambient modes.
Battery life is the standout reason to buy, long enough for a working week of listening without the charger. Adaptive cancelling, two-device pairing and a video mode for sync cover study, travel and streaming. The limit is no water rating, and the drivers are listed smaller than many full size cans.
Who it's for
Students in noisy dorms and travelers on long trips get adaptive quiet and days of playback in a light frame. Anyone training outdoors in wet weather should look for a rated sport set.
Pros and cons
- Very long battery life
- Quick top-up from a short charge
- Adaptive noise cancelling
- Ambient Aware and TalkThru for conversations
- Not water resistant
- LE Audio needs a firmware update
- Warranty limited to one year
Performance notes
Adaptive noise cancelling adjusts its correction to the surrounding noise, so steady engine or traffic hum is reduced more than sudden sounds. Video mode in the app aligns audio timing with picture for films and games. Battery life is the main factor in daily use, and the quick charge covers a short gap before leaving.
